Sumati Rajput is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in the Crisis and Disaster Risk Finance team in the World Bank Group. She leads the overall program management of Global Shield Financing Facility, a USD$450 million+ program that finances solutions to address post-disaster financing needs. Sumati has worked on the implementation of disaster risk management and disaster risk finance programs, in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean over the last 12 years. She has a track record of engagement with external partners, notably governments, private sector partners, and humanitarian sector and development partners. Before joining the Bank, she worked as an Economist at AECOM for two years, on projects in India, Korea, and Japan. She has a BA from Columbia University, and MA from Yale University, and an MBA from INSEAD.
