Where we work
We bring public and private partners together to help build future-ready nations.
We take action together. To build a foundation for the future. To close protection gaps and build resilience and where it matters most. To help nations be future-ready.
Closing protection gaps and driving greater use of insurance capabilities in countries which need it most is a monumental task that requires the effort of many, in close collaboration. IDF mobilises insurance expertise and capital from public and private funds, and coordinates with all stakeholders to deliver impactful action.
Through each Working Group, IDF members implement projects and initiatives in EMDEs, and engage public and private organisations to contribute expertise and capital to IDF efforts, driving and advocating for greater use of insurance capabilities in these nations.
This includes designing risk transfer solutions, enhancing access to risk understanding and risk modelling, driving greater use of measures that can reduce risk, investing in resilience, sharing knowledge about risk management, and driving policy development and change. By doing so, we can help vulnerable nations not only protect their economies, but grow and thrive.
Where we work
Our in-country projects are implemented by our Working Groups and Task Forces, co-led with EMDE national, regional and/or city governments. They also involve a range of local actors from ministries; agencies, academia and the local insurance industry.
